The vicinity command is used to get an idea of which items and characters are in your immediate vicinity or the immediate vicinity of a target. This is helpful because it might affect certain outcomes like who can hear you when you whisper, or who is in close proximity when area damage is taken.
The syntax is either:
vicinity - shows all of the things in your own vicinity
vicinity <target> - shows the vicinity information for the target
