The buy command is used in shops to buy goods from the shop. It is used in conjunction with the LIST command to see merchandise for sale and the PREVIEW command to preview items for sale.

The syntax for this command is as follows:

buy <thing> - buys a specified item
buy <quantity> <thing>- buys the specified quantity of the thing
buy <weight> <commodity> - buys the specified weight of a commodity merchandise item
buy [<quantity>] <thing> account <accountname> - buys the the thing with a line of credit account
buy [<quantity>] <thing> with <item> - buys the thing with a payment item such as a cheque, credit card, writ, etc.
