Command reference
Acquit
Command words: acquit
Permission: Any
The acquit command is used to manually record a conviction of not guilty to a criminal who is being held in custody. This would be intended to be used by PC or NPC Enforcers when a trial is being roleplayed, in lieu of using the automated systems for these things.
Typically this command would be used on a prisoner who another enforcer has used the takecustody command over, or on a defendant in a PC-held trial started with trial summon. Otherwise, NPC enforcers might drag them back to prison before you're done and any convictions for multiple crimes would be applied immediately rather than at a time of your choosing.
Both you and the criminal need to be in the court room of the legal jurisdiction you're acquiting them of.
Note also the convict command which is used to register a finding of guilty.
When the last known charge is finalised in a PC-held trial, the defendant will be released, sent to prison, or sent to holding for execution according to the recorded sentences.
There are the following syntaxes for this command:
acquit <target> - see a list of crimes you could acquit a target of
acquit <target> <crime ID> - acquit a target of a particular crime
