Command reference
Alert
Command words: alert
Permission: Any
The alert command sends a loud non-language alert, like a shout, whistle, howl or other urgent vocalisation, to nearby rooms. NPC AIs can react to hearing alerts.
The syntax is:
alert - uses your stored alert emote or the race/global default
alert <emote> - sends a one-time alert emote
alert show - shows your current alert settings
alert set <emote> - stores your default in-room alert emote
alert setdistant <emote> - stores your nearby-room alert echo; use {0} for the direction
alert clear - clears your in-room alert emote
alert cleardistant - clears your nearby-room alert echo
alert clearall - clears both stored alert emotes
Your in-room emote uses normal emote syntax. If you omit the @ token, your short description is automatically inserted at the start.
